Brilliant pub! Divine food and very reasonably priced. A real gem.
I had an excellent meal here. The wagyu beefburger was by far the tastiest burger I have ever had and was cooked to perfection. The rest of the short but interesting menu was adjudged similarly tasty by our party. The real ales were nicely kept. The young staff looked after us in very friendly but efficient fashion. The roaring wood burner did its best to keep out the winter weather. What's more to want!
If you want a shiny, glitzy establishment with chandeliers and waiters in tight suits - go somewhere else. However, should you prefer a comfy rustic pub with excellent ales, cider and surprisingly good food this is a cracking choice. A friendly greeting from Will and George plus a few locals toasting the early evening by two wood burners with craft beer made for a good introduction. I stayed overnight and slept in a four-poster after an authentic Thai meal. The cooked breakfast was excellent. I'd stay again.
We stopped over for a meal. The menu sounds quite sophisticated, but when we ordered the burger, it tasted delicious. The staff is very attentive and makes sure youve got everything you need.
Few problems in the kitchen the day I visited so food took a long time and a few items were off the menu - not the norm I understand, but maybe worth checking in with them beforehand if you're a group. Food was excellent in my opinion - I had a delicious burger and sweet potato chips. Staff were doing their utmost and helped to give this place a really nice country pub feel. Worth a visit.
